Just Jot It January – Humiliate

This is my first time participating in Just Jot It January.  Head over to Linda G Hill for all the details on Just Jot It January and more writing prompts.

Your prompt for January 11th, 2018, brought to you by Jim Adams, is “Humiliate.” Use it any way you’d like in your post. And make sure you visit Jim at his blog, “A Unique Title for Me” to read his post and say hi! Here’s his link:  https://jimadamsauthordotcom.wordpress.com/

I think to deliberately humiliate someone has to be one of the worst offensives. Other words in the thesaurus for humiliate are: debase, degrade and shame.  WOW.  Maybe people think “oh I’m just joking” – little humiliation. But really you are debasing and degrading that person.  When I use those  words it becomes totally unacceptable (it was already!). We should never debase, degrade or shame someone so why humiliate.

You can always start now!

  1. I’ve never understood the American tradition of roasting for this reason. I know it’s a mark of respect but it’s one of those cultural things, I don’t get it. My self esteem couldn’t take it lol!

    1. I agree I don’t get it either. Also American’s funniest videos when people video themselves or others falling or doing something they think funny. Person is being humiliated often. No idea. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Would love to hear your ideas and thoughts!
