Drum roll please……this week I pulled out the Angel Card Delight! My first thought was of a toddler and playing peek-a-boo. How they laugh and squeal everything time you “pop” open. They never seem to get tired of it. The delight children find in everything – finding a pretty rock, a branch and watching the same show over and over again.
When did we lose this reaction? I know we say we are happy when such and such happens, but I don’t think that is the same as delight (my take). Delight for me is more of a rush – of seeing something new or experiencing something for the first time and loving it. How can we get that squeal back of delight?
For me it is trying new things that may or may not bring delight. But if I don’t experience them I will never know. Maybe to experience delight we should be looking at everything in a more positive way. Have we become tarnished just seeing the negative and not appreciating what is around us? Maybe if we start showing up in the moment and having gratitude for the positive around us we might find delight. I don’t have the answers but I do know that negativity, feeling stuck and anger is not working. So I am taking a breath and going to start looking at the positive, not take things for granted and hopefully laugh and squeal more.
What brings you delight? Do you think we have lost it as adults? I would love to hear your take on delight or any of the Angel Cards. Check out Categories / Angel Cards for my rants as I pull these cards out weekly!
