Renew, Replenish and Rejuvenate! Now that spring has officially arrived, at least on the calendar for most of us, these words take on a new meaning for me. It is the start of a new month and season and what do I want to make happen?
I want to feel renewed, replenished and rejuvenated. The process started in March when I did some major purging at home. It continued when I moved my bedroom furniture around and purged some more. Just those two things made me feel rejuvenated and even replenished. I got rid of items that no longer brought me joy and found items I had forgotten that brought back memories.
If we are on a mission of exploration to create the life we want the three “R” should be brought out and examined every so often. What is worth renewing? Old friendships? Activities we enjoyed in the past? Is there something there we’ve lost and didn’t realize it until now? I am renewing my writing and currently at Camp NaNo an on-line writing camp.
Replenish should be ongoing. It is not only our body that needs fuel but our minds. Be open to new possibilities. Is there a new restaurant in town you want to try? Maybe a class? Even going for a walk can replenish us in both body and mind. Lately I have been listening to podcasts and learning what other creatives are doing. There is so much on the internet that is free to explore. Check it out, along with your local library and recreation centre. I am currently listening to Dear Sugars and Serial podcasts.
Okay I am on track with renew and replenish. Rejuvenate is currently a work in progress. I want to get my moods more evened out so I started writing a daily gratitude list and meditation. The gratitude list should be easy as I have a pretty good life, live in a great country and surrounded by people I enjoy. The practice of meditation is about making time which I am going to put as a priority. If you are unsure if meditation would work for you check out 10% Happier by Dan Harris.
So what are you doing to renew, replenish and rejuvenate? I would love to hear your ideas so let’s start a conversation!
